Soil is where everything here starts, so composting is not a side activity for us — it is the main one. The program runs year round.
Dropping off
Bring your kitchen and garden waste to the drop-off point by the entrance. It goes into the windrows the same week.
Yes please: fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and filters, tea, eggshells, garden trimmings, fallen leaves, untreated wood chips.
No thank you: meat, bones, dairy, oil, pet waste, anything treated or painted, and compostable plastics — they do not break down in a windrow.
Finished compost
Screened compost is available by the bag or by the truckload through the growing season. It is what we grow in ourselves, made from what the neighbourhood brings us and turned by hand.
Volunteering
Turning days are the best introduction to the whole farm, and the fastest way to understand what good soil actually smells like. Get in touch if you would like to be told when the next one is.
